Cold Steel - Kyoto II
As much as Cold Steel® loves the tremendous cutting and piercing power of large fixed-blade knives, it cannot be denied that such knives often attract unwanted attention or comments when carried. Small fixed-blade knives like the Kyoto, on the other hand, are less noticeable due to their smaller size and more harmless appearance.
The Kyoto knives are available with either a traditional (tanto) or reinforced (straight back) blade shape and offer an astonishing cutting and thrusting potential that belies their modest stature. Each knife features a sturdy, robust blade with a wide full tang that extends through the handle. Additionally, they come with a stainless steel hand guard and extremely non-slip Kray-Ex™ handle scales that visually mimic the traditional cord wrapping of Japanese sword handles.
The slim, comfortable sheath is versatile. You can attach a ball chain or a C-Clip from Cold Steel® to it, allowing you to carry the knife in various ways.
Stainless Steel 8Cr13MoV
8Cr13MoV has similar properties to AUS 8A and is a proven steel that is excellent for making working knives. In Cold Steel's® own tests, this high-carbon stainless steel has proven to be tough and corrosion-resistant. Like AUS 8A, it exhibits good edge retention and is also easy to resharpen.
