Description
Kingston Arms - Crecy Sword One-Handed Sword
The Battle of Crecy is considered one of the most significant battles of the Hundred Years' War and one of the English's decisive victories over the French. Although success was primarily achieved with wood rather than steel, the Crecy War Sword by Kingston Arms represents a significant amount of time and research into the specifications of one-handed swords of the time, particularly from museum pieces and tapestries. Explicitly crafted to exact specifications, the Crecy War Sword features a traditional through tang construction with a peened pommel. The forged, hollow-ground blade features a distinctive central ridge that tapers along the entire length of the blade, supporting the cutting edge. The cord-wrapped leather handle is balanced by the stainless steel pommel, allowing for comfortable one-handed control. The arched guard made of stainless steel is a tribute to the English longbow archers who served under the English King Edward III. won the victory. The Crecy sword comes with a leather-wrapped wooden scabbard and a stainless steel crossguard.
