Cold Steel - Trail Boss

Although the Trail Boss axe from Cold Steel® is compact enough to be easily carried in hand or strapped to your gear all day, it is also strong enough for tasks that would make any hatchet or tomahawk beg for mercy. Equipped with a European-style head with an axe blade approximately 10 cm long and a cutting edge approximately 11,4 cm long, it clears a lot with each strike. Additionally, it features a very stable and durable handle made of straight-grained American hickory wood.

This axe was subjected to an intensive field test in the Australian Outback. It was used to chop firewood, clear roads and paths, build hunting blinds, and even fell a sizable tree!

1055 Carbon Steel
The carbon content and the relatively low amounts of other substances in this steel make it a very stable material, free from the brittleness that is inherent in most higher-carbon steels. This steel is excellent for blades that need to have high impact resistance and is therefore often used for large fixed knives, machetes, and swords.
