Cold Steel - Knight's Sword - Man-at-Arms Series
The medieval man-at-arms (engl. man-at-arms) was a brave, loyal fighter full of martial heroism, mastering a variety of weapons with great skill. He was a veteran of countless battles, often the first to charge into combat, and although he was not a knight, he fought and trained side by side with them as a comrade-in-arms. In honor of these rugged, devoted mercenaries, Cold Steel® has created the Man at Arms weapon collection. Compared to Cold Steel's® premium versions, these battle-ready weapons lack the usual shiny blades and silver-polished steel elements, but in terms of quality and performance, the MAA series products come close to the other products. The fully sharpened, blued blades are characterized by their distinctive gun-metal appearance, which perfectly harmonizes with the black handles. And when properly oiled, they reveal their inherent, radiant beauty. The Man at Arms collection offers a selection of some of Cold Steel's® finest blades, but at a significantly lower price. If you have always wanted to own a Cold Steel® blade but could never afford it, then this collection is made for you.
The MAA Knightly Sword is inspired by the favorite sidearm of many medieval foot or wandering soldiers. On the battlefield, this double-edged, smaller blade was more maneuverable than many of the heavier swords. It was light enough to be wielded one-handed and also stiff enough to find its way through the unprotected gaps of a knight's armor or to break through chainmail! Cold Steel's® interpretation of this lightning-fast combat sword is made from expertly hardened carbon steel and then deeply blued for a deep black finish. With its forward-curved guard, ribbed leather grip, and disc pommel for weight balance, this knightly sword is excellently balanced and also looks beautiful with its blued steel fittings!
The MAA Knightly Sword comes with a hand-stitched black leather scabbard with a steel throat and chape.
1090 Carbon Steel
The carbon steel 1090 is an excellent choice for larger fixed blades. It is easy to sharpen and retains this sharpness, yet remains tough enough to withstand even the most brutal stress tests. In short: a good all-purpose carbon steel that remains very durable even under heavy use.
