Combat-ready
Fully battle-ready reproduction of the so-called "Coventry Scarves", also known as English sallet. This style closely resembles the (north) Italian sallet types, but differs from its continental relatives by its pointed apex and higher comb. The original piece is dated back to the year 1460 and is still located in Coventry, where it can be seen in the museum "The Herbert - Art Gallery and Museum" "Viewed."
Like all Schallers with visor, this shape was predominantly worn by knights and mercenaries, the English. Men-at-Arms worn, while the visorless Schaller helmets were predominantly prevalent among archers and crossbowmen. The helmet features a sophisticated locking mechanism for securing the visor.
