Kanetsugu has been producing knives in Seki, Japan for 100 years. The Zuiun knives were created to celebrate the company's hundredth anniversary. A combination of classic Japanese craftsmanship and high-tech steel. "„Zuiun“ can be roughly translated as „Auspicious Cloud“ – a knife as a harbinger of luck and contentment."
The blade shape is called Kiritsuke, especially the reverse Tanto tip: the back of the blade runs steeply to the cutting edge. This fine tip is perfect for delicate cutting work and is visually very appealing!
The Zuiun knives feature blades made of Damascus steel with 63 layers and a core made of SPG2 powder metallurgy high-tech steel. The handles are beautifully crafted from laminated wood. The octagonal handle shape fits comfortably in the hand and is easy to grip. On the top side of the handle end there is a pretty metal inlay
