Hanwei - Scott Rodell's Cutting Sword Jian
Cutting Sword Jian, designed by Scott M. "Rodell"
Designed by the well-known martial artist and instructor Scott M. Rodell is Hanwei's Chinese cutting sword Jian, a specially crafted weapon for the art of cutting in Chinese fencing. By utilizing a special steel recipe and heat treatment developed by Hanwei, the blade optimizes the hardness of the edge and the robustness of the blade body, making it the ideal cutting sword. The simple yet elegant steel fittings support the sword in its task and ensure a clear appearance, while remaining true to tradition. The black leather over cranberry-colored stingray skin provides a secure grip. The attractive appearance is complemented by a wooden scabbard, which features the same fittings as the handle
Scott M. Rodell's martial arts career includes over 25 years of training in the Yang Style Taijiquan. He has already trained under numerous well-known Chinese masters in the USA as well as in China. He is the founding director of the Great River Taoist Center, located in Washington D.C. its headquarters and branches throughout the United States, Russia, Estonia, the Netherlands, Germany, and Australia. Rodell is the author of "Chinese swordsmanship, the Yang Family Taiji Jian tradition" and "A practical guide to test cutting for historical swordsmanship", both of which are recommended for martial artists.
