CRKT - Raikiri Pocket Knife
Designed by Dew Hara in Seki, Japan
If you want a sword but need an EDC pocket knife. The everyday pocket knife Raikiri™ has a serious name in the world of modern Japanese tradition... the legendary sword is said to have split a lightning bolt in half. Even if this particular need does not exist, the carefully designed curves, the elegant lines, and the innovative Field Strip technology will ensure that every fulfilled order feels a bit more heroic
In his hometown of Seki, Japan, Dew Hara has learned from the best - his father, Koji Hara, is one of the most respected designers in the world. Although Dew is relatively new to knife design, he is making a serious name for himself. The Raikiri™ pocket knife features a modified Wharncliffe blade with a satin finish and a flat flipper. After opening, the locking insert anchors between two cold-forged handles. With a contrasting line, the movement in the design hints at the striking motion of the famous Iaido sword, which had a strong influence on Dew's inspiration. To match the utility of the knife with its aesthetics, it has been equipped with Field Strip technology for easy cleaning and maintenance in the field without tools
Every superhero in the hometown needs a sword. This one simply fits in your bag
Field Strip works like this
With the Field Strip Technology, you can easily disassemble your knife for tool-free cleaning. To disassemble, close the knife and press the front release lever upwards. Turn the rear unlocking wheel clockwise - once you feel the handle unlock, pull it upwards and away. Handles and blade can be easily detached. To reassemble the knife, place the blade and the handles in the closed position - press and hold the pivot point. Once the pivot point is in the correct position, turn the unlocking wheel counterclockwise until it is securely in place. Press the front lever down. The knife is fully functional again
