Cold Steel - Steel Tiger Karambit

The Steel Tiger® is a thoroughly modern tactical interpretation of the Indonesian Karambit knife. This knife is the result of the collaboration between Lynn C. Thompson and the now-deceased knifemaker Steven Likarisch. Their goal was to harmoniously combine all the best features of this hook-shaped classic with modern materials and design elements.

Its strongly curved and extremely pointed blade made of AUS 8A stainless steel with a stonewash finish has been vacuum-hardened and deep cryo-treated, features a Scandi grind, and thus offers maximum strength, cutting power, edge retention, and performance.

The tang is fully encased in a durable Griv-Ex™ core, which is visible at the bolster, thumb rest, and the impressive pommel ring. This Griv-Ex™ core was subsequently coated with premium Kray-Ex™ through an injection molding process. Even in cold or wet conditions, this Kray-Ex™ layer ensures excellent slip resistance.

The Steel Tiger® comes with a military-style Secure-Ex® sheath that ensures safety and comfort. You can attach the knife to your gear or wear it on your boot or belt using the removable clip.

Stainless Steel AUS 8A
Cold Steel® has been using the same expertly hardened Japanese AUS 8A steel for almost three decades now. This steel is exceptionally well-tested and has proven over the years that it is excellently suited for making working knife blades: It is tough and corrosion-resistant with good edge retention and also easy to sharpen.
