Cold Steel - Roach Belly Outdoor Knife
The historical Roach Belly featured a short, distinctly upward-curving blade with a sharp point. It was most likely named after the common roach (German Rotauge), a carp-like fish with a similarly rounded belly, and was widely used in 17. century England and the American colonies. Since then, it has lost none of its economy, versatility, and performance.
In designing Cold Steel's® interpretation, the original shape was retained, but modern materials were used. The blade is forged from cryo-quenched stainless steel 4116 and expertly hardened to a Rockwell hardness of 56-57 HRC. It features a sharp edge that is easy to resharpen. The traditional wooden handle has been replaced with a durable, injection-molded polymer handle. This is significantly more weather-resistant than its historical counterparts and, unlike wooden models, will neither swell, shrink, rot, nor crack.
The Roach Belly comes with a durable Secure-Ex® sheath, making it easy to carry all day during extended hunting or camping trips.
