Cold Steel - O Tanto - Emperor Series

The swords of the Emperor series feature some of the most distinctive characteristics of Japanese sword design. Only traditional materials are used in the production of the fittings. The guard (Tsuba), handle collar (Fuchi), and handle end cap (Kashira) are made of nickel silver and are expertly crafted by hand. The blade collar (Habaki) is also handcrafted from nickel silver, and the ray skin insert on the handle (Samé) is traditionally wrapped tightly with black silk cord. The beautiful Menuki (small decorative element between ray skin and handle wrapping) further enhances the sword's appearance.

All blades of the Emperor series are made of 1060 carbon steel, tempered to spring hardness, and sharpened. Each one is then carefully hand-polished, with the fuller polished to a high gloss.
