Böker - S.S. Saint Louis
Promising distance, the gentle rustling of the waves, and the seemingly endless expanses of the ocean: On its maiden voyage from New York to Southampton in June 1895, there is a lively atmosphere on board the S.S. Inch. Louis exudes a carefree holiday atmosphere. Because at the time, the passenger ship was considered one of the prestigious objects of the influential American Line and sweetened the departure to distant Europe for up to 169370 passengers with exclusive luxury spread over 169 m in length at a pleasant cruising speed of 19 knots (approx. 35km/h) - fine bites and stylish comfort included! With its quadruple expansion steam engine, the S.S. Inch. Louis was one of the largest and most powerful ocean liners under the American flag around the turn of the century. Primarily intended for transatlantic liner service between America and Europe, the steamship was temporarily used as a troop transport during the Spanish-American War and the First World War. After this turbulent time, the ship was supposed to return to regular liner service, but 1920 a serious fire broke out on the ship, putting an abrupt end to this plan. In the spirit of the transatlantic liner launched by 1894, Böker presents the American Line S.S. Inch. Louis, a worldwide limited edition of 300 units of the historic Böker straight razor, bringing back the splendor of days gone by and transforming every shave into a touch of exotic distance. The impressive ship adorns nearly the entire front side of the polished 6.8" carbon steel blade. The used square point is the perfect blade shape for precise contour shaving among connoisseurs. The Klingenerl is equipped with the historic H. Boker & Co. Inchamped and provided with an underside serration. The grips are made of exquisite ebony wood, which, thanks to its dark color, resembles the hull of the S.S. Inch. Louis remembers, while two rivets and the Böker tree logo accentuate the bulbous handle harmoniously. The design on the blade as well as the historical stamp have been meticulously restored and laser-engraved onto the straight razor using state-of-the-art techniques. Delivery in historically lovingly recreated neck box cardboard
