During the trench warfare of World War I and the resulting trench battles, many inadequately equipped soldiers developed improvised weapons that were made in field forges and workshops at and behind the front lines. However, as the battles progressed, it became clear that the equipment and armament of the soldiers did not meet the requirements of this particular type of combat. In the year 1915, Böker therefore received an order from the War Ministry to develop a compact combat knife that would be perfectly suited for this purpose.
The authentic sheath made of high-quality leather is still an indispensable part of the Böker trench knife today. Dimensions: 27,5 x 3,5 cm.
