Battle Merchant - Roman Helmet Imperial Gallic G Weisenau with Plume
This Roman helmet (also known as Helmet or Blackcurrant (bekannt) is a faithful replica of a so-called. imperial Gallic helmet of type "G" Weisenau (Imperial Gallic "G" Weisenau) from the middle of the 1. century AD. The remarkably well-preserved original artifact made of iron and bronze was recovered from the Rhine near Mainz-Weisenau and can be admired at the Museum in the Andreasstift in Worms. Characteristic identifying features for this particular type of helmet included (among others) the sloping neck guard, the pronounced eyebrows, the brow band, and the circular decorative rosettes.
This authentic replica of a Roman officer's helmet with movable cheek flaps is made of polished 1.2 mm steel and richly decorated with brass embellishments. Since the helmet does not have an integrated lining, the delivery includes a cotton padding hood that allows for comfortable wearing. Small rings on the inside of the cheek flaps also provide the option to attach a chin strap (not included in delivery).
The two-tone Crista in black and white, presumably reserved for Roman solthers with special authority within the cohort (e.g. the Options, made of natural horsehair, which are the next highest-ranking officers after the centurions. The helmet plume can be properly attached to the Roman helmet with the included brass mount
