The Zischägge, also known as the Pappenheimer helmet, Hungarian sturmhaube, or Lobster Tail Helmet due to its shape, was a helmet used in the 17. Century in Europe used rider helmet. It consisted of a helmet bell in the shape of a hemisphere, cheek flaps with ear holes, the characteristic neck guard, an eye or forehead visor, and a nose iron. It was initially used by Hungarian hussars and Polish riders, and from the 17. century, but also used in Central Europe by arquebusiers and dragoons. "This replica of the Zischägge is a variant called" three-bar pot, which offers three rods welded together at their ends on the eyelet screen. The Lobster tail consists of three riveted plates. The helmet features a practical and size-adjustable leather inlay.
