Cold Steel - OSI Hunting Knife
The sub-hilt knives from Cold Steel® offer all the advantages of a custom-made knife, including performance, but are much more affordable. The blades are made from Japanese AUS 8A stainless steel and are double-hardened using the latest techniques to ensure unmatched strength and durability. The handle of these blades is a model of efficiency and economy. Handle section, guard, and finger guard (Sub-Hilt) made from Kray-Ex™ are injection-molded in one piece. This material is cost-effective yet ensures the longevity, safety, and control expected from a sub-hilt knife. Additionally, the handle remains weather-resistant and impervious to moisture.
The OSI is a very sturdy, single-edged version of the OSS (Item No. CST-39LSSC). Thanks to its flat-ground blade with a thin, extremely sharp edge, it is excellent for piercing and will cut and slash just as confidently! This knife was thoroughly tested in practical use by Cold Steel's® President Lynn C. Thompson. It was used to skin and break down dozens of game animals - from wild boars to buffaloes - and has repeatedly proven to be exceptionally efficient!
Stainless Steel AUS 8A
Cold Steel® has been using the same expertly hardened Japanese AUS 8A steel for almost three decades now. This steel is exceptionally well-tested and has proven over the years to be excellently suited for the blade production of working knives: It is tough and corrosion-resistant with good edge retention and also easy to sharpen.
