Böker - Vigtig vs. Wild

Two streamers in the wilderness? Knives instead of controllers? Starving instead of Happy Slice Pizza? Sounds absurd, but it's true: The Hamburg-based Trymacs (29) and the Bonn-based Rumathra (27) will team up for the upcoming season of 7 vs. Wild and face the 14-day adventure in the Canadian wilderness. The two heavyweights from the German streaming/gaming scene together have over 4 million followers on Twitch (Trymacs 3,4 million, Rumathra 0,7 million) and are also widely represented on YouTube and Instagram. In the course of the intensive preparation for this extreme experience, the choice of the right equipment - especially since all items have to fit into a 1L Nalgene bottle - played a crucial role for them.
Together with Rumathra, who visited us multiple times in our Solingen factory, we developed and built our own knife, which is perfectly tailored to the requirements and conditions of the upcoming outdoor adventure. The basis for the new development is the Böker Plus Vigtig outdoor and bushcraft knife designed by Dave Wenger (see page 105), which, due to its dimensions (overall length: 19,7 cm; blade thickness: 4 mm), not only fit perfectly into the bottle but is also designed for the toughest demands. The choice of blade steel fell on Magnacut, which, unlike the commonly used tool steels, was specially developed for knife making. This steel, celebrated as a "miracle steel," has managed to achieve a very fine structure and thus high toughness and shock load resistance despite the high chromium content of 10,7% and an impressive hardenability of over 62-63 HRC.
In combination with the True-Scandi grind, the blade with a stonewash finish defies any challenge: from fine cutting and carving tasks for camp construction and firewood preparation, to batoning and chopping, and even game processing. To optimize the space in the Nalgene bottle, the two handle scales made of green canvas Micarta have been kept slightly flatter than the original version, ensuring a perfect grip even when wet. A special highlight is located inside the handle. Instead of hollow rivets, the two large screws can be easily disassembled with a coin; revealing a generously sized compartment, given the external dimensions of the handle, with a depth of 14 mm, where items such as tweezers, tinder, charcoal tablets, a fishing set, and safety pins can be stored without any problems. Even as a skeletonized knife without handle scales, the Böker Vigtig vs. Wild, entirely manufactured in Solingen, makes a good impression and emphasizes the versatility of this special model.
The delivery is rounded off by a compact black Kydex sheath with clip.
