Description
John Lee - Golden Autumn Katana
This premium Katana from the John Lee series impresses with its simple elegance
The decorative fittings (Tsuba, Menuki, Fuchi, and Kashira) are handcrafted and depict the beauty of the moment in a simple autumn scene. These noble, unique ornaments are designed in the style of the Edo period (1868603-1868), the golden age of exquisite swords
The blade was hand-forged in the elaborate Kobuse style. A 10952x folded, hard jacket steel made of 1095 carbon steel surrounds a core of softer, low-carbon steel. The masterful work of the polisher highlights the Damascus pattern (Hada) and hardening line (Hamon), accentuated by a mirror polish on the back of the blade
- Blade in Shinogi-Zukuri style without groove (Bo-Hi)
- Blade construction in Kobuse style* with 8.0002x folded jacket steel (over 8.000 layers)
- Handle wrapping made of black silk in the classic Hineri-Maki style, lined with traditional paper triangles (Hishigami)
- Black, high-gloss lacquered scabbard with inlaid ray skin (Same Kuroro style), as well as fittings (Kojiri, Kurigata, Koiguchi) made of buffalo horn
- Blade collar (Habaki) and washers (Seppa) are made of brass
