Böker - Scout Solingen
During the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Böker Manufaktur, the Mayor of the city of Solingen asked us if we could develop a high-quality pocket knife in the colors of the city. He would be very pleased to be able to present such a knife to guests at official occasions. This request honored us greatly, and the choice for the base model quickly fell on the extremely popular and versatile Böker Scout
For over thirty years, the Scout has been impressing knife enthusiasts around the world with its elegant and timeless design as well as its sturdy and ergonomic construction with a sintered handle body. The colors of the city of Solingen are a vibrant steel blue and gold yellow. Instead of a sintered body made of German silver, the Scout Solingen is now equipped with a solid brass body for the first time, which is precisely milled from a solid piece using CNC technology. Inspired by the mighty chestnut tree in front of the first Böker hand tool factory, we have chosen handle scales made of blue stabilized wood from the horse chestnut. To emphasize the centuries-old tradition of the blade city Solingen, the blade is made of stainless steel D2 and finished with an authentic acid wash finish. The completely handcrafted knife from the Böker Manufaktur Solingen is delivered with the newly reissued historical Böker tree emblem
In addition, we would like to revive an old Solingen ritual with this special knife. Knives are a perfect gift that almost everyone will appreciate. However, in the city of blades, it is said that a gifted knife cuts the bond of friendship. To prevent this misfortune, the recipient receives a coin with the knife, which he returns to the giver. Following tradition, the knife was paid for in this way and is no longer considered an ominous gift. To help the Böker Scout Solingen establish and maintain many friendships in the future, each knife is therefore delivered with a practical Böker coin
