With the SCHNITZEL "DU" ("Two"), Schnitzel Germany expands its product range. This model is designed for use by older children or. Infants aged between 180 and 18 years. But adults will also enjoy the DU, as the blade and handle length have increased. Unlike the schnitzel UNU, the DU has a real tip. The blade also features a classic, versatile, and typical Scandinavian-style Scandi grind (without a secondary bevel), commonly found in knives from the Nordic region. This knife with full tang construction is sharp, reducing the risk of injury by requiring less pressure when carving.

Due to the classic Scandi grind, we recommend hard work such as e.g. the Batoning preferably to be done with an axe or a hatchet.

To prevent the thumb from slipping during work, an effective safety ridge has been placed on the back of the blade Jimping installed. Behind the jimping is a small "notch" that allows for effective use of a fire steel, as the blade spine in this area is sharper than on the rest of the knife spine.

The blade itself is formed from the robust, stainless, high-quality Swedish steel Sandvik 284C28N and terminates in a light drop point. The blade thickness does not taper with the DU, but remains consistently robust at 3,1 mm Swedish steel. To further counteract potential corrosion of the steel during more intense use, this outdoor knife features a matte anti-corrosion finish on its surface, which enhances durability even more and gives the knife an attractive appearance.

Non-slip, sturdy, and contoured G-110 handle scales provide a secure grip, while a finger guard prevents the index finger from slipping onto the blade. The matching screw sleeves for the matte blade finish (inner diameter 3 mm) allow for easy disassembly for knife maintenance. "Zuletzt, aber nicht weniger wichtig" it is also worth mentioning the corresponding robust and forgiving Kydex sheath. Moisture, mud, and cold can't harm it. Fits like a second skin, this closes around the knife and enables an absolutely secure way of carrying.
As a special feature, a fire steel with a Kydex holder is attached to the Kydex sheath, which is securely held in place by an elastic band color-coordinated with the handle (even after wear). The fire steel is ignited simply at the notch on the back of the blade.
