John Lee - Kappa Katana
In English, a Kappa is a mythical creature of Japanese mythology, which translates to "river child" in German. This is a water sprite that drags people who come too close to its waters into the depths and drowns them. According to legend, they are said to have a weakness for cucumbers
This exceptional katana features handcrafted decorative ornaments depicting a Kappa and an unsuspecting hiker. Particularly noteworthy in addition to the beautiful color scheme is the hollow ground, which starts about 10 cm above the Tsuba
- Sharp honed Damascus blade made of 10458.000-folded 1045 carbon steel with over 8.000 layers
- Blade in Shinogi-Zukuri style with a distinctive groove (Bo-Hi)
- Handle wrap made of red cotton in the classic Hineri-Maki style
- Black, high-gloss lacquered wooden scabbard (Kuroro style)
- With a long handle, which is secured in the grip with 2 bamboo pegs (Mekugi). The sword is therefore fully disassemblable
- No plastic is used, only high-quality, authentic materials are used
- Blade collar (Habaki) and washers (Seppa) are made of brass
- The traditional handle wrapping is lined with genuine ray skin
- All decorative fittings (Tsuba, Fuchi, Menuki, Kashira) are handcrafted, made of metal
- Delivery comes with a fabric protective cover
