Description
John Lee - 47 Ronin Katana
Beginning of the 18. In the 17th century, the two princes Kamei Korechika and Asano Naganori were commissioned by the Shogun to prepare a reception ceremony for the Emperor's envoy. The two were dependent on the corrupt Master of Ceremonies Kira Kozuke, who was supposed to instruct them in court etiquette. However, he expected generous gifts and extras for this. Unlike Kamei, Asano rejected these, which led to him being particularly poorly instructed, insulted, and provoked by the ceremony master. After enduring for some time, Asano finally lost his temper and attacked Kira with his knife. Although he only slightly injured him, this offense was punishable by death, and Asano committed seppuku, the ritual suicide
Among Asano's followers were 47 samurai, who became Ronin (masterless samurai) through death. Although they knew that blood revenge would mean their own death, they forged a plan to murder the ceremony master. After months of preparation, you finally managed to infiltrate Kira's estate, eliminate him, and then proceed to decapitate him
After laying their heads on Asano's grave, the Ronin surrendered. Having avenged their master and thus acted in accordance with the Samurai honor code, the Shogun allowed them to commit ritual suicide through Seppuku, sparing them from being executed like common criminals. This event is considered an outstanding example of the unconditional loyalty and devotion of the samurai to their lord
