Description
Hanwei - Shamshir Persian Saber
The Shamshir, which translates to English "Löwenpfote" or Lion's paw translates, is a Persian saber. It is a cutting weapon designed for slicing. The partially strongly curved blade makes it stable and its cuts more effective, but this makes stabbing almost impossible. It spread quickly and was produced in various regions, such as. in India, the Balkans, Russia, and Turkey. The Shamshir often had a ceremonial role in addition to its function as a weapon. This Shamshir features a sharpened blade made of carbon steel. The curved, spherical knob is made together with the handle from two pieces of wood that snugly fit onto the tang. The scabbard is made of leather-wrapped wood and features a chape and throat made of steel. From the house of Hanwei
