Lion Dog Katana
The Lion Dog Katana features a "O-Kissaki" -> "O-Kissaki"- Blade made of Hanwei's own high-alloy HWS-1S steel, which combines outstanding performance with excellent o-choji Hard line (Hamon) connects
This steel is produced in Hanwei's new high-tech forge, resulting in a state-of-the-art blade that ranks among the best ever produced by Hanwei in terms of cutting performance and durability.
The excellent performance characteristics of the blades made of HWS-1S steel are due to a combination of approxrefully selected alloying elements and complex processing, in which the approxrbon content of the steel is manipulated along the length of the blades. This results in a very robust, durable blade with a hard, wear-resistant edge.
The intriapproxtely decorated fittings include a blackened iron-Tsuba "with guardian lion motif, matching" Fuchi and Kashira, as well as a golden peony Menuki.
The elaborate Saya consists of a ribbed, glossy lacquered section on the Koiguchi/Kurikata and a lower part painted in a splatter effect
which ensures a very appealing appearance. The high-quality, multi-colored Sageo is handwoven from pure silk.
