Extrema Ratio - Satre Stone Washed
Satre is a lightweight and extremely durable knife with a fixed blade in a pocket-sized format. Due to its features, it can be used in a variety of activities and fields, including survival and bushcraft, or it can be part of an EDC kit (Every Day Carry).
It was developed in collaboration with Daniele Dal Canto, a Master Advanced F.I.S.S.S. Instructor (Italian Federation of Sport and Experimental Survival).
Thanks to its Paracord 550 lanyard, it can also be worn as a neck knife. This way, it is possible to hold it vertically with the handle facing down. The pre-shaped Kydex sheath is equipped with eyelets, to which both the lanyard and accessory holder can be attached.
The Satre is available in three versions with two different types of steel:
- The Black and Stone Washed versions are made from heat-treated Böhler N690 steel with 58 HRC. This material was chosen for its oxidation resistance, edge durability, and above all, for its reliability, which has proven itself over the years.
- The Black S600 is instead made from Böhler S600 steel.
This steel is used for the production of tools for metalworking and stamp manufacturing.
Thanks to its chemical composition with molybdenum, tungsten, and a high content of vanadium, it boasts excellent properties in terms of hardness, wear resistance, and toughness.
The presence of cobalt promotes the growth of small, evenly distributed carbides, which increase wear resistance. The Satre S600 is thermally and cryogenically treated to achieve an exceptional hardness of 64 HRC.
This also makes it very wear-resistant and gives the edge lasting sharpness. The Böhler S600 has a chromium content of 4.5%, which makes it oxidizable.
For this reason, Extrema Ratio has chosen the new EXP DARK coating. Due to its extreme hardness and wear resistance, this steel is not easy to sharpen.
