Demko Knives - Demko AD20.5 Shark Foot Orange DLC
The Shark Lock™ mechanism, designed and developed by Andrew Demko, is finally here! Easy, one-handed opening and closing, smooth cage bearings, Grivory handle, and steel liner - this knife is up to the task!
The Shark Lock™ mechanism is located on the back of the knife and is actuated via a ramp resembling a shark fin. When the blade is opened, the spring-loaded locking arm moves upwards and engages into a notch in the tang, positioning itself under a lock pin. This range of motion is noteworthy and unique in that the locking mechanism moves both forward and backward, as well as up and down. This leaves more space for a larger blade, which brings mechanical advantages in certain areas. And since the spring that moves the locking arm up into the locking position is directly integrated into the arm, it remains protected from dirt. In terms of size and weight, the Shark is comparable to most Tri-Ad Locks.
In tests, the AD-20.5 was able to achieve a torque of approximately. 98.86 Nm (875 in-lb) resistance - a truly impressive result for a 100 g (3.5 oz.) lightweight knife!
The AD-20.5 is as fun as it is practical. The radically new locking system not only provides reliable protection for your precious fingers, but also features a convenient thumb ramp with jimping, ensuring even better control with its "fin". The additional jimping on the blade spine also contributes to the user-friendliness of the knife
