CRKT - HVAS Pocket Knife
Designed by Jesper Voxnaes in Loegstrup, Denmark
"For a minimalist with a taste for big adventures". Jesper Voxnaes' Scandinavian backyard is full of fjords, interrupted by mountains and cut by surging rivers. So when he sets out to design an outdoor knife, it's made for performance. Everywhere. And with the Field Strip technology, the HVAS™ takes readiness to the next level.
Jesper Voxnaes calls Loegstrup, Denmark, his home. And his hobbies include hunting, fishing, sailing, camping, hiking... you get the picture. So when he reaches for a knife in the backcountry, miles away from anywhere, he expects it to deliver. In fact, he designs it to do just that. The name HVAS™ (pronounced simply vas) refers to the Old Norse roots of the knife, which in the ancient language means "sharp," and is a flawless addition to the wilderness gear of an outdoor man with a classic drop-point blade in a clean, satin finish. The manufactured nylon handles are an excellent match for unexpected conditions. But when it slows down, it gains Field Strip technology for quick cleaning and easy tool-free maintenance
From the highest peaks to the most raging river canyons, the HVAS™ is in full swing
Field Strip works like this
With the Field Strip Technology, you can easily disassemble your knife for tool-free cleaning. To disassemble, close the knife and press the front release lever upwards. Then turn the rear unlocking wheel clockwise - once you feel the handle unlock, pull it upwards and away. Handles and blade are easy to detach. To reassemble the knife, place the blade and handles in the closed position - press and hold the pivot point. Once the pivot point is in the right position, turn the unlocking wheel counterclockwise until it is securely in place.
Press the front lever down. The knife is fully functional again
