The VG-1 San Mai® is a professionally crafted stainless three-layer steel. A hard carbon steel is sandwiched between flexible low-carbon steel. This guarantees maximum edge retention with high resistance to lateral and impact stress. This steel is produced in extremely small quantities in Japan and is used by Cold Steel® for the most exclusive and valuable fixed blades.
