Cold Steel - Scottish Broadsword
The Scottish broadsword, the infamous weapon of the clan men from the Highlands, features a long, double-edged blade and a distinctive basket hilt. On the battlefields of the world, it has proven that, in combination with Targe (buckler) and Dirk (dagger), it was a match for any opponent.
Cold Steel® did not miss the opportunity to develop its own version of this famous sword. The hand-forged, expertly hardened, and beautifully polished double-edged 1055er carbon steel blade features three fullers, and each of these swords would effortlessly pass the rigorous British Proof Test (sword test). The basket is made of blued steel. The wooden handle is covered with ray skin and wrapped with wire. Additionally, a leather-covered wooden scabbard with blued steel chape and locket is included.
1055 Carbon Steel
The carbon content and the relatively low amounts of other substances in this steel make it a very stable material, free from the brittleness that is inherent in most higher-carbon steels. This steel is excellent for blades that need to have high impact resistance and is therefore often used for large fixed knives, machetes, and swords.
