Japanese AUS 80A steel could be described as the big brother of AUS 8A steel, which has been used by Cold Steel® for over three decades. AUS 80A is a high-performance stainless steel alloy with the same properties as AUS 8A and a few more on top! This steel is excellent for making utility knives - tough, corrosion-resistant, easy to sharpen - and is known to have even better edge retention than AUS 8A due to its higher carbon content
