Cold Steel - Irish Blackthorn Walking Stick

Schlehdorn or Sloe (engl. Schlehdorn) is widespread throughout Ireland and across the British Isles. For centuries, it has been considered a valuable material for the production of top-quality walking sticks. The original sticks, carved from Schlehdorn, were so-called Irish walking sticks Shillelaghs. These traditional weapons of the rural population of Ireland were approximately between 60 and 120 cm long. When used as a weapon in skilled hands, the Shillelagh was so devastating that it was legally banned by the British occupiers. "Subsequently, the Irish turned their shillelagh into a approximately". 90 cm long hiking pole and were able to bypass the law. Since another ban on walking sticks seemed inappropriate, the English let the Irish have their way. However, this venture turned out to be disappointing: The sticks sold well, but Schlehdorn is difficult to source and somewhat inconsistent in quality. However, the results of Cold Steel's® latest efforts in developing polypropylene products were so impressive that they have now produced a Schlehdorn made from injection-molded polypropylene. All the benefits of real Schlehdorn are retained, without the drawbacks

It was first carefully and accurately reproduced, and then artfully modified to appear as if taken directly from nature.
