Cold Steel - Frontier Hawk
Drop Forged Tomahawks
The high-quality Cold Steel® tomahawks are precision drop-forged from carbon steel 1055. When manufacturing striking tools, especially those equipped with a cutting edge, drop forging offers many clear advantages. Using multiple dies (hollow molds/matrices) connected to massive forging hammers, the steel is shaped step by step into a fully homogeneous mass and impact-pressed to achieve a uniform fiber structure and minimize the formation of defects. All Cold Steel® tomahawks are also differentially hardened: The edge and hammer face are fully hardened to be sharpened, while the rest of the head is kept softer to absorb shock and impact. The American Tomahawk Company® is a registered trademark and a subsidiary of Cold Steel®, Inc.
Frontier Hawk, Flat Textured Finish
It is a true pleasure to use the Frontier Hawk, the hatchet of the pioneers! It is a perfect prop for the historical depiction of all periods of the North American Indian Wars up to the final conquest of the West in the late 19. century. While it is as light as some camp axes, its design ensures tremendous cutting performance!
