Cold Steel - Finn Hawk Outdoor Knife
The design of the Finn Hawk® originates from the collaboration between Andrew Demko and Lynn C. Thompson and is the latest model in Cold Steel's® series of affordable and durable bushcraft and outdoor tools.
Its blade made of German 4116er steel with a Scandi grind in the traditional Nordic style has been given high edge retention through cryogenic treatment, and the 7,5 mm wide, steeply beveled edge as well as the practical curved belly are perfectly suited for skinning and slicing. Additionally, the approximately 10,2 cm (4 inch) blade is more than long enough for most game processing tasks and, of course, for camp chores or food preparation.
The handle of the Finn Hawk® was manufactured using a two-stage injection molding process. The first layer of impact-resistant polypropylene is durable, long-lasting, and extremely weather-resistant, and the outer layer of thermoplastic rubber (TPR) with a spiral pattern provides a food-safe, comfortable, and secure, grippy surface even under the worst conditions.
The Finn Hawk® comes with an ultra-thin Secure-Ex® polymer sheath with an integrated belt loop.
Stainless Steel Knife 4116
The 4116 steel is a fine-grained, stainless knife steel. It is often used for pharmaceutical devices and high-quality kitchen knives. Its balanced carbon-chromium ratio ensures both excellent rust protection and great strength. Very fine, extremely sharp edges can be sharpened. An excellent choice for outdoor/hunting knives and kitchen knives and utensils.
