Cold Steel - Espada XL S35VN

The Cold Steel Espada is inspired by the classic Spanish Navaja knives, but in terms of design and materials, it is extremely modern.
The Espada series is the result of the collaboration between knife maker Andrew Demko and Cold Steel's president Lynn C. Thompson. This collection is the perfect fusion of Demko's ingenious technical talent and Thompson's extensive knowledge of bladed weapons and tools. Despite their impressive size, these huge, highly efficient folding knives remain surprisingly easy to carry. They are so skillfully designed that they fit comfortably in your pocket, and you will soon forget that you are even carrying such a large, imposing blade. Thanks to Demko's patented thumb disk, the Espada can be opened directly from the pocket seam when drawn, making it ready for use in no time!
The beautiful blade of the XL Espada is made from high-quality S35 VN steel. This super steel from the USA was deliberately chosen: The edge can be ground extremely fine, yet remains particularly sharp for a long time. The knife also features masterfully polished handle scales made of G-10. The bolster and frame made of 7075er aluminum have also been polished to a high gloss.
To protect against the sharp blade, each Espada is equipped with Cold Steel's patented Tri-Ad® locking mechanism. This lock has proven to be astonishingly impact-resistant and solid. It is practically impossible for the blade to close in your hand. In Cold Steel's famous hardness and stress tests, the XL Espada was able to withstand not only a freely hanging weight of 272 kg (600 lbs.) but also a hanging engine block without any problems!
