Böker - Tirpitz Damascus Gold
At 01. In April 1939, the Tirpitz, named after Grand Admiral Alfred von Tirpitz, was christened and launched in Wilhelmshaven. Since then, no larger battleship has been built in Europe. 80 years later, we would like to remind you with the special edition Böker Tirpitz-Damast Gold that since 1945, we have been living in peace and freedom in Western Europe after two world wars. In memory of the countless dead, especially the crew of the Tirpitz, we donate €10 for each knife sold to the War Graves Commission
The huge battleship was sunk 1944 off the Norwegian coast. Immediately after the war, a Norwegian specialist company began to dismantle the ship in order to make the high-alloy steel available for civilian purposes. Parts of the special armor of the Tirpitz were also recovered for Böker. From these pieces of living history, the Böker Damascus smith exclusively forges an extraordinary damascus steel with a fascinating history
The Böker Tirpitz-Damast Gold impresses at first sight with its incomparable damascus blade, which is adorned with an exclusive gold coating. The blade made of 300 layers of hand-forged Tirpitz Damascus steel in the Large Pyramid pattern exerts a fascinating attraction on the viewer due to the matte shine of the genuine gold coating. All components such as thumb stud, blade and handle screws, spacers, liners, clip, and clip replacement plate are also gold coated. The locking mechanism is a liner lock with a thickness of 1,5 millimeters
The reversible clip (tip-up/tip-down) allows for carrying in the desired position. The inlay made of local walnut wood proudly features the coat of arms and the lettering of Tirpitz. Each knife of this special edition combines history, remembrance, and modern technology in a particularly noble way. Completely handmade in the Böker Manufactory in Solingen. The delivery includes an individual serial number in a frame case with a certificate of authenticity
