Böker - Saga Grenadill Filleting Knife
With our kitchen knife series Böker Saga, handcrafted in our factory in Solingen, we are bridging the gap and taking the topic of "cutting in the kitchen" to a new level
Our decades of experience in the field of outdoor knives, combined with the creativity and ingenuity of Danish knife maker Jesper Voxnæs, have influenced the concept and design of Saga to set new ergonomic and cutting-edge standards. The careful transfer of this shared expertise into the culinary field ensures that working with Böker Saga becomes a unique experience
The gently curved handles are made from exclusively certified imported grenadilla wood. With its high hardness and density, Grenadilla is among others. firmly established in the European woodwind instrument industry. The successful ergonomics of the Böker Saga knife series are evident from the first contact: Every curve, every bend in the line fits into place in the hand, providing absolute control and an outstanding cutting experience. The dovetail-shaped widened handle end of the larger models provides additional grip security. The high stability of Böker Saga is due to the full-length tang that runs through the knife (in the same construction as many hunting knives) from the blade tip to the end of the handle. For optimal cutting performance, not only does the complete flat grind of the blade with stonewash finish play a role, but also the choice of 440C as blade steel, which far surpasses common kitchen knife steels in terms of edge retention and corrosion resistance. This surface finish, produced using a special grinding process, is characterized by excellent sliding properties in the cutting material and thus promotes the already outstanding cutting performance. Furthermore, the microstructure of the stonewash finish is extremely resistant to scratches, as they often visually blend into the structure. The large hollow rivets, unmistakably bearing the signature of Jesper Voxnæs, add a special accent
The filleting knife is mainly used for filleting fish and is therefore also part of the basic equipment of every angler. It is characterized by a long, narrow, and flexible blade. It is also used for other purposes. The sharp blade of the fillet knife is used to remove tendons or skin from the meat, and it can also quickly separate the flesh of fruits and vegetables from the core
