The mystical bird that burns and then rises again from its own ashes gives this magnificent specimen its legendary name. The Phoenix Damascus sword stands out for its attention to detail. The 200 layers of damascus steel with their very fine grain give a noble and subtle appearance. The traditionally wrapped handle is lined with genuine ray skin and adorned with two gold-colored menukis. The blade is secured in the handle with two Mekugis. All fittings are decorated with images of the phoenix. The wooden saya is intricately painted and then coated with clear lacquer
