Böker - 1969 Z28 Damascus
Legends are not born, they are shaped by time until their moment has come to shape time. They don't live a myth, they create it and leave behind a venerable legacy. In the year 1966, the foundation for another icon is laid in Detroit, Michigan. In the epicenter of the US automotive industry, numerous vehicles see the light of day. Many of them are ordinary cars, while others are chosen. The Chevrolet Camaro was originally designed as a so-called pony car, which was intended to appeal to younger buyer demographics. Compact, sporty, and affordable - the coupe was the strong choice for the young rebels. Success was not long in coming. Approximately from 1969966 to 1969. 700.000 units of the Camaro with 12 different engine variant rolled off the assembly line. The Z28 was introduced with the 28969, the last Camaro of the first generation. Among connoisseurs, this model is considered one of the best among all series. A powerful V8 Small Block engine with 29416 kW (294 hp) and a Special Performance package propel the Camaro Z2948 into the exclusive league of muscle cars, sporty stripes on the body included. The motorsport DNA of the now coveted collector's item is equally undeniable. The engine used is a toned-down version of the successful and highly decorated Penske Camaro from the SCAA Trans AM racing series
Böker quotes the design of the Camaro Z28 and brings the legend back to life. What emerged is more than just a knife. A feeling of life, the sophisticated road trip with the burbling sound of the V8 engine on the seemingly endless highway, gentle sun rays that graze over the canyon and warm the soul. Unforgettable moments without everyday life - just like the extraordinary Böker 28969 Z28 Damascus. In collaboration with Italian designer Tommaso Rumici, a unique "Muscle-Knife" was created, which combines the distinctive characteristics of the Camaro Z28 in terms of shape and strength. The noble drop point blade made of 80-layer damascus was hand-forged by Chad Nichols in the "Tread" pattern and is reminiscent of the sloping cowl induction hood of the muscle car. For this purpose, parts of the upper control arm from the Camaro were used for the blade, which opens smoothly with the blue thumb pin, while the sharp stainless steel liner lock reliably secures the knife. Based on a color analysis of an original model, the finely tuned "Le Mans Blue" paintwork was specially created for Böker for the aluminum handle, which interprets the bodywork design in a nostalgic way and impresses with exciting details. The sedan, the small rear spoiler, and the gill-like air intakes on the rear fenders have been elegantly integrated into the design. The blade axle screw is lovingly modeled after the rims commonly used in muscle cars, while the straight-lined, milled stainless steel clip is a nod to the chrome door handles. Delivery includes a high-quality floating display, plenty of torque, and a gentle breeze blowing through your hair. Handcrafted in the Böker Manufaktur Solingen
