Böker Plus - Appalachian Origin Mini Axe
Whether for the cozy warm fire in the home fireplace or the campfire in front of the tent, the practical Böker Plus Appalachian Origin Mini Axe is a compact and versatile hatchet that should never be missing for camping and home use. As with the other models in the series, the axe head is crafted in the Rhineland form from 1055 carbon steel. There are three main differences: While the Small and Big models feature robust and universal axe grinds, the edge of the Origin Mini Axe is equipped with a polished knife grind, which also allows for utility carving tasks such as feathering sticks. Additionally, the axe head is left with a forged raw surface. Finally, long-fibered ash wood is used for the handle, which transmits less vibration to the hand holding the axe compared to hickory. In the time when stoves in the house were still fueled with wood, this type of axe was used for chopping small firewood, as needed for outdoor cooking fires. From this time comes the older trade name "kitchen hatchet." The leather sheath 09BO257 is not included and can be ordered separately.
Warning and Safety Information:
Cut Injuries: The most common hazard when using knives is the risk of cut injuries. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the Knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, leading to uncontrolled movements that may cause injuries.
Injuries from falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Dull knives: Dull knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Therefore, knives should be regularly and properly sharpened.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks it is not intended for (e.g., as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade but also lead to accidents.
