Battle Merchant - Late Roman Infantry Spangenhelm
Solid replica of a late Roman helmet, which was used in the former Roman fort Gariannonumtoday Burgh Castle Found in Norfolk, England in the year 1960. This is a helmet of Roman infantry, who were already dealing with the invading Saxons in this area in the third century.
A very typical helmet of this transitional period between Late Antiquity and Early Middle Ages. The helmet consists of four segments, which are connected to each other by a buckle and comb. It has movable cheek and neck flaps lined with leather inside and at the edge, and features a short riveted nasal. Like its original, handmade and riveted with brass rivets.
The helmet has a comfortable leather inlay. The cheek flaps can be laced to fit using a leather strap.
