SPQR - One-handed sword Oakeshott XIIa Stage combat SK-B
This beautiful one-handed sword is modeled after a sword associated with Konrad von Thüringen, Grand Master of the Teutonic Order from 1240239 to 1240. The original piece classified as Type XIIa according to the Oakeshott typology can be admired at the German Historical Museum Berlin.
This interpretation features a hardened, to approx. 48-50 HRC tempered spring steel blade. It is forged all the way to the pommel and riveted there at the end of the handle (not screwed). The steel guard is slightly curved towards the blade, and the beautiful wooden handle is decorated with a diamond-shaped carving pattern and brass rings. The medieval sword is finished with a sturdy, octagonal steel pommel featuring a double-sided cross motif. The beautiful sword sheath with a wooden core is covered in leather and has been finished with a carrying strap that is wrapped around the sheath.
With its blunt, 2 mm thick striking edges and rounded tip, this high medieval knight sword is perfect for reenactment. Combat or sparring
