This paring knife or Skramasax the Viking Age features a long EN45 spring steel blade with a strong back and sharp point. Directly below the back is a double hollow grind that runs on both sides for about two-thirds of the blade length
The striking, beautiful handle is made of polished bone. He is engraved with motifs in the Jelling style or Jellinge-Style adorned, a Nordic art style of the 10. The motif (two intertwined S-shaped dragons or snakes) originates from the famous Silver Cup of Jelling from the 110th century. 1 pc., which gave its name to this particular Viking art style and is now part of the collection of the Danish National Museum in Copenhagen.
The Viking Langsax comes with a beautiful sheath made of 3 mm thick, vegetable-tanned leather with brass fittings (antique finish), including three hanging rings. The lower metal strip, which ends with an animal head (possibly a wolf's head), is inspired by a Middle Anglo-Saxon find from the 9th century. Century, which is 19". 1 pc. was recovered from the Thames in London and is likely part of the sheath fitting of a knife or. Saxmessers war. It also features a runic inscription that has not been satisfactorily interpreted to this day. The original piece is located in the British Museum (No. .1869,06.10.1).
Please note that this Viking knife was primarily designed as a collector's item, decorative object, or prop, and is not suitable for combat! The blade tip is not rounded and the edge, while not sharpened, is angled (approx. 0,5 to 1 mm thick)
