Battle Merchant - Bastard Sword 15th Century Combat SK-B
The exceptionally well-preserved original of our replica is now located in Paris Musée de Cluny the medieval world, the French national museum of medieval art. It dates back to the late 15th. Century and was probably produced in a sword manufacturing workshop in southern Germany.
This battle-ready reconstruction is exclusively handmade. The S-shaped guard and the laterally ribbed pommel are made of heat-treated, forgeable cast iron. The one in oil at approx. 48-50 HRC hardened spring steel blade goes through to the pommel and is screwed there. The handle and the crossguard point are elaborately wrapped in leather. The blade cross-section is diamond-shaped. The blade tip and edges are dull and rounded. The sword comes with a beautiful leather-covered wooden scabbard.
