Cold Steel - Samburu Spear with Sheath
The Samburu from Kenya's rugged northern frontier are a semi-nomadic people of tall, slender individuals who make a living as sheep, goat, donkey, camel, and cattle herders. Especially the warriors of this tribe, known asLmuran, are impressive: They never cut their long, braided hair and paint their faces and torsos with beautiful, intricate patterns using a cosmetic mixture of animal fat and red ochre. Given the constant threat to small livestock and herds by predators and outlaws "Shiftas" -> "Shiftas" "(Bandits), who can strike at any time, rarely venture out unarmed from their" Bead beyond (small settlement with fencing). Any warrior worthy of this name would find it unimaginable to ever be caught without a spear.
The over 2 meter long throwing spear of the Samburu warrior is the most advanced, state-of-the-art spear of its kind in the world. With this extraordinary weapon, Samburu warriors can deal with marauding leopards, lions, and even armed raiding parties from incredible distances. This spear could be described as the .300 Winchester Magnum of the spear world. It can be used from a long distance, fly straight, take a flat trajectory, hit hard, and penetrate deeply. Cold Steel was inspired by the spear of the Samburu tribe and developed its own version made from modern materials.
Each Cold Steel Samburu spear consists of three interchangeable elements:
- the sharp, blade-shaped spearhead, which is securely welded to a sturdy steel shaft;
- the opposite, balancing spike (also Shoe called), which can serve as an alternative tip for throwing practice, to preserve the actual blade for more important occasions;
- the black hickory handle, which serves as a connecting piece between the tip and the shoe and tapers at both ends
For easier transportation, the Samburu spear is delivered unassembled. The spearhead and the shoe simply need to be assembled with the handle and securely fastened with the supplied mounting material. A Secure-Ex® sheath is included in the delivery
Note: When crafting the Samburu Spear, Cold Steel prioritizes maximum durability. If you still bend the shaft or the shoe, the spear can easily be straightened using a vise or hammer. The solid hickory handle may need to be replaced sooner or later
