During the Baroque period, this civilian weapon evolved, known as the court sword or smallsword. She was replaced from the middle of the 17. gradually replaced the rapier in the 17th century, as there was a demand for lighter and not quite as bulky weapons as the rapier. This is due to the increased population growth and the resulting lack of space at this time
This replica of the court sword features a blade made of EN45 spring steel with a triangular cross-section, which is not sharpened. The guard and the curved hand protection are made of brass, with a wooden handle.
The scabbard is made of leather-wrapped wood, with brass fittings and a hook for attaching the scabbard to a belt.
