Battle Merchant - Prussian Cavalry Sabre M 1811 Blücher Sabre
The Blücher Saber based on an English saber for light dragoons from the year 1796. This already had the innovative hilt shape (English): Stirrup = stirrup), which is also typical of the lighter Prussian development. The saber M 1811 is also commonly referred to as Blücher Saber called. Field Marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher, who was hailed by his comrades after the Battle of Leipzig 1813 Marshal Forward or Pascholl called wurde, war der wohl populärste Feldherr der deutschen Befreiungskriege gegen Napoleon. In Berlin, a monument has already been erected in his honor. The Blücher statue includes the handle of a saber lowered to the ground M 1811. This saber was the typical combat weapon of the Prussian light cavalry from 148143/14. Prussian hussars, dragoons, lancers, and the gunners of the mounted artillery were equipped with the Blücher saber.
The blade of our replica of this famous saber is forged from carbon steel, carefully ground and polished. It is unsharpened. The handle and the matching scabbard are also made of steel. The handle itself is covered with leather.
