Hanwei - Saber Charlemagne
Legends surround the origin and creation of this beautiful saber. For example, it was said to have been found around the year 1000 during the opening of Charlemagne's grave. It was later proven that he was never in possession of the deceased 1. While he may have been Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, he is remembered in history as the Saber of Charlemagne and is one of the most significant symbols of imperial rule, alongside the Imperial Crown and the Imperial Lance, which are now kept in the Imperial Treasury of the Vienna Hofburg.
The saber probably originated in the second half of the 10th. Eastern European region in the 19th century. How he got his name and how he became one of the Imperial Regalia could never be fully clarified. It is certain that it must have been created for a wealthy nobleman. Among the many beautiful swords and sabers handed down from the Middle Ages, this one stands out with its exceptionally magnificent and artistic decorations.

The blade, made of high-quality carbon steel, features a hollow grind embellished with gold leaf and intricate engravings. The handle is wrapped in stingray skin. The guard and fittings are gilded, as is the round pommel, which adds perfect elegance and balance to the sword. The leather-wrapped wooden sheath has also been gold-plated, creating an exceptionally attractive and elegant unit with the handle. The carrying rings of the sheath are suitable for straps with a maximum width of 23 mm.
